CET: KEA issues show-cause notice to 2,348 candidates who did not report to colleges

Over 2,300 candidates who were allotted seats in the second extended round of UGCET-2024 did not pay the fee or report to their engineering colleges, causing seats to be denied to deserving students next in line. The Karnataka Examinations Authority issued show-cause notices to these candidates, giving them three days to explain their actions or face legal consequences. Officials expressed concern over the vacant seats in prestigious colleges, with suspicions of unethical activities like seat blocking. Depending on the candidates’ responses, further legal action will be taken to address the issue.
