The Brazilian Supreme Court has requested that Elon Musk’s social platform X provide documentation validating its new legal representative in Brazil in order to resume operations in the country. X was shut down in Brazil for not complying with court orders related to hate speech moderation. Despite previously stating it would not comply, X’s lawyers now say the platform will meet the court’s demands. The platform has named a new legal representative and is working to address the requirements set by the court. X is also now paying fines and blocking certain accounts as ordered by the court. Despite a temporary bypass, the platform remains banned in Brazil until all conditions are met.
