Bengaluru metro’s Yellow Line delayed again, services to begin in January 2025

The Yellow Line in Bengaluru, which will connect R.V. Road to Bommasandra, has been delayed again with the commissioning now set for January 2025. The line will feature 16 stations and greatly improve connectivity in southern Bengaluru, intersecting with the Green Line and Pink Line at key stations. Delays have been caused by issues with the Chinese company CRRC fulfilling the contract to deliver metro coaches, leading to BMRCL considering encashing a bank guarantee. Despite the setbacks, progress is being made with testing of the prototype train and preparations for full-scale operations underway, aiming for a full fleet of 15 train sets by August 2025.
