The Animal Husbandry Department is offering insurance coverage for 50,000 cows and their owners through the Gosamrudhi-NLM 2024-25 scheme in partnership with the State Insurance Department and United India Insurance Company. The scheme includes a government subsidy of 50% for general category cattle and 70% for SC/ST categories, with premium amounts varying based on the coverage term. Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal and Animal Husbandry Minister J. Chinchurani were present for the signing of the agreement between the departments. This initiative aims to support dairy farmers and ensure the well-being of their livestock.
