AITUC asks government to not delay welfare board for unorganised sector



The AITUC general council passed a resolution urging the government to establish a welfare board for unorganised workers, providing social security for over 40,000 workers. They also reiterated their demand for a textile park to generate jobs and called for the disbursement of salary arrears to workers by certain enterprises. Additionally, they requested the Pondicherry Municipality to conduct elections for the street vendors committee. The AITUC leaders emphasized the importance of implementing these measures promptly to improve the livelihoods of workers in various sectors.
