Ahead of Navarathri, dolls take centre stage

At Sevalaya’s ShoppeSeva in Mylapore, old dolls can get a fresh new look with repainting and repairs. The NGO partners with artists to give dolls a makeover, with a minimum of one week for repairs and four to five days for repainting. They also welcome donations of gently used dolls. Additionally, other local entrepreneurs are offering unique return gift options, such as amla candy, eco-friendly bags, and custom-made kolu padis. Organizations like SNEH and Rehoboth are empowering special needs individuals by creating thamboolam bags and other gifts. It’s a great way to give back while celebrating the festive season.
