U.S. believes Iran transferred short-range ballistic missiles to Russia

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei recently met with President Masoud Pezeshkian and his cabinet members in Tehran for Government Week. Meanwhile, the United States has informed allies that it believes Iran has transferred short-range ballistic missiles to Russia for use in the war in Ukraine. The White House has expressed concern over Iran’s support of Russia and warned against the transfer of missiles. Iran has denied providing weapons to Russia and stated that such actions are inhumane. CIA Director William Burns has also warned of a troubling defense relationship between Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea that threatens Ukraine and Western allies. The White House is monitoring the situation closely and has taken steps to prevent the supply of ballistic missile-related items involving Iran. President Joe Biden is set to discuss the situation with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
