GOP lawmakers are concerned about the protection of whistleblowers in the investigation into the assassination attempts against former President Trump. They are calling for transparency after whistleblowers revealed that Secret Service employees were required to sign nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) to access briefings on sensitive information. The lawmakers are requesting information on the scope of the NDAs, if employees were required to sign anti-gag language, and the threat assessment used to justify the NDAs. They emphasized the importance of whistleblowers knowing their rights and urged federal agencies to encourage disclosures of waste, fraud, and abuse. The Department of Homeland Security has been contacted for comment.
