Texas girl, 5, accidentally shoots herself, stepfather arrested while out on bond for gun possession as felon

An unfortunate incident occurred in Texas where a five-year-old girl accidentally shot herself with a gun she found inside her home. The child underwent surgery and is expected to survive. The girl’s stepfather, Jason Nguyen, was arrested on charges of being a felon in possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance. There were other individuals present in the home at the time of the incident. Nguyen has a history of felony convictions and was out on bond at the time of the shooting. The incident is still under investigation.
