Taliban holding on to  billion of U.S. military equipment left behind after withdrawal



The new leaders in Afghanistan claim they have improved people’s lives since the U.S. withdrawal, but the Taliban has ruled with force, using abandoned U.S. military equipment. The Taliban recently showcased their vast collection of weapons, vehicles, and aircraft left behind by the U.S. President Trump accused the Biden administration of giving military assets to the Taliban, demanding the hardware’s return. The Taliban refused, stating the assets belong to Afghanistan. Despite the chaos of the 2021 takeover, Kabul feels different now, with increased safety and a desire for peace. Afghanistan’s vast mineral reserves could be a new battleground, with China and Russia already invested.
