Taiwan slowly returns back to work after Typhoon Krathon receded – Times of India



Southern Taiwan is currently repairing damages caused by floods and high winds after Typhoon Krathon hit the island, affecting major metropolitan areas. While financial markets have resumed operations, some parts of the region are still dealing with the aftermath of the storm. Local governments in Kaohsiung and Pingtung county have declared an extra day off work to clean up debris and remove downed trees. The city of Kaohsiung, with a population of almost 2.7 million, is working to repair damage caused by the storm, which brought record-breaking winds and heavy rain. Despite the challenges, the community is coming together to recover from the impact of the typhoon.
