Taiwan reports rise in Chinese military activity as U.S. election nears

Taiwan’s defense ministry reported that Chinese military aircraft, including fighters and bombers, flew near the island for the second day in a row. China recently conducted war games near Taiwan, which Taiwan and the U.S. condemned. Taiwan’s President, Lai Ching-te, has offered talks with Beijing but has been rejected, causing tensions between the two sides.
