Study finds evidence of heart stress due to exposure to heat – Times of India

Researchers have found that increased exposure to heat affects the hearts of older adults by increasing blood flow and heat in the body. This can lead to conditions like coronary artery disease. By studying participants from Canada, researchers found that increasing body temperature by 1.5 degrees Celsius can affect blood flow to the heart. This condition, known as CAD, can be detected through imaging techniques. However, those affected may not show external symptoms. The study highlights the importance of understanding the impact of heat exposure on the heart and blood vessels, especially in older individuals.
