Sindh CM rejects reports of IMF’s concerns on NFC award, 18th Amendment



Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah denied reports of the IMF expressing concerns over the NFC Award or the 18th Amendment. He mentioned that the federal government has started implementing the 18th amendment by devolving ministries. He also discussed measures to reduce electricity tariffs and suggested offering industrial units electricity at subsidized rates for increased production. The World Bank reports were praised for offering insights into economic challenges in Pakistan and the South Asian region. The Sindh government has taken steps to alleviate poverty and provide housing for those affected by the 2022 floods. The government is also working to combat inflation and address circular debt in the power sector. The event was attended by provincial ministers and World Bank representatives.
