SEAL Team commander blasts ‘misguided and wrong’ claims contradicting Senate candidate’s bullet wound

A group of Navy SEALs who served with Montana Republican Senate candidate Tim Sheehy are defending him against questions about a bullet wound he claims he got while fighting in Afghanistan. Sheehy initially said he was shot accidentally in a park, but later revealed the injury actually happened in Afghanistan. His former colleagues describe him as brave and a great teammate, and his commanding officer also supports his integrity. Critics, including a Democratic donor and former colleague, have questioned his account. The firearm industry trade association also supports Sheehy’s story, saying the gun he was carrying in the park would not have discharged a round if accidentally dropped. The NRSC has condemned the attacks on Sheehy’s military record.
