Rescue efforts are ongoing in southern and eastern Spain due to devastating floods that have claimed at least 95 lives, with that number expected to rise. The city of Valencia saw cars stacked on top of each other as mud and debris flooded the streets. Transport Minister Óscar Puente confirmed fatalities inside some vehicles. Meteorologists reported a year’s worth of rain falling in just eight hours, leading to the worst natural disaster in modern Spanish history.
