Ontario to remove U.S. alcohol from shelves after Trump’s tariffs announcement

Ontario is removing all American alcohol from its government-run liquor stores in response to President Trump’s tariffs on Canadian imports. Premier Ford stated that nearly $1 billion worth of American alcohol is sold annually in Ontario, but that will no longer be the case. This decision comes after Prime Minister Trudeau imposed retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods. The LCBO, one of the largest alcohol wholesalers in Ontario, will cease sales of U.S. alcohol products indefinitely. Other Canadian provinces are also taking similar actions. This move aims to support Ontario-made and Canadian-made products in light of the current trade tensions.
