Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar addressed the National Assembly, stating that there is no loadshedding in the country due to a generation shortfall. He mentioned that distribution companies are managing load in areas with losses in feeders. The government has been facing criticism over high electricity prices and power outages. Energy Minister Awais Leghari promised good news regarding independent power producers. Tarar also mentioned plans to install smart meters to prevent electricity theft and highlighted renewable energy projects. Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik discussed the depletion of gas reserves and efforts to explore new blocks for oil and gas.
