‘Little House on the Prairie’ star Melissa Gilbert says Michael Landon’s ‘brutal’ cancer ‘decimated him’

Landon’s daughter, Leslie Landon Matthews, emphasized the importance of regular checkups and early detection in battling pancreatic cancer, which has a low survival rate. Despite the challenges, Landon remained hopeful and focused on his family during his final months. Michael Landon’s children came together to present him with a heartfelt gift before his passing. Each child had a part in creating a special book for their father, with a cover that spelled out “Dad” using their little heads as letters. The children wanted to show their father that they were there for him, loved him, and would be okay even if he didn’t survive. The touching gesture was a way for the children to express their love and support for their father during a difficult time.
