Despite protests from republicans, the King was welcomed by many royal fans during his visit. A royal commentator praised the tour and dismissed the idea of King Charles abdicating in favor of Prince William. The commentator emphasized that the monarchy will continue until Charles passes on, at which point William will become King. Charles is not planning to give up his role and retire.
