Cycling uphill in the Sanget Valley-Patnitop region near Jammu airport is a challenging but rewarding experience. After a long day of riding through the Himalayan foothills, I returned to Skyview by Empyrean and was treated to a delicious surprise – Khatta Meat, a signature dish from the Dogra community. This unique dish is known for its smoky and tangy flavors, achieved through a special smoking technique and garnished with dry mango powder and pomegranate seeds. The recipe, provided by the culinary team, combines mutton with a mix of spices and mustard oil, resulting in tender and flavorful meat that melts in your mouth. Despite the seemingly complex smoking process, making Khatta Meat is surprisingly easy and definitely worth the effort for its mouthwatering taste.
