Indiana Fever fire coach Christie Sides after Caitlin Clark’s breakout season

The Indiana Fever fired coach Christie Sides after two seasons, where she went 33-47, including a 20-20 record this season. The team made the playoffs but was swept in the first round. Sides is one of six coaches to be let go this offseason, with all having three years or less experience. The new coach will have a strong young core to work with, including Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston. Fever president Kelly Krauskopf thanked Sides for her leadership during a transition period and expressed the team’s goal of winning a championship. Sides was a longtime assistant before becoming head coach and had two years left on her contract. The Fever have had multiple coaching changes in recent years and struggled at the beginning of this season before improving after the Olympic break.
