As Hurricane Milton approaches, iPhone users in the state have the option to stay connected with loved ones even if cell service goes down by using Apple’s iOS 18 to send text messages via satellite and contact emergency services without a Wi-Fi connection. If you want to use a certain feature, Apple says you’ll need to have an iPhone 14 or newer with iOS 18.
