Hunter’s Moon 2024: Know why is it called Hunter’s Moon, its significance and when to view | – Times of India

This week, the Hunter’s Moon, also known as the October Full Moon, will be lighting up the night sky, reaching its peak illumination on Thursday, October 17th. Even though it will be brightest at 7:26 a.m. EDT (4:56 p.m. IST) on Thursday, it can be appreciated from Tuesday evening through Friday morning. The Hunter’s Moon is a supermoon that follows the Harvest Moon and gets its name from historical hunting traditions. This moon appears brighter and rises earlier than other full moons, making it ideal for hunting after sunset. You can enjoy this stunning sight with just your naked eye from most locations worldwide.
