Huge payout expected for a rare coin bought by Ohio farm family and hidden for decades

Three sisters from Ohio inherited a dime kept in a bank vault for over 40 years, not realizing its true value until recently. The dime, struck in 1975 without the San Francisco Mint’s mint mark, is extremely rare and could fetch over $500,000 at auction. Only two such dimes are known to exist, with the other selling for $456,000 in 2019. The sisters’ brother and mother bought the first discovered coin for $18,200 in 1978, seeing it as a financial safety net. The sisters, who wish to remain anonymous, were shocked by the coin’s worth and now have the opportunity to sell it at auction.
