Broadway has lost a beloved star with the passing of Gavin Creel at the age of 48. The Tony-winning actor, known for his roles in Hair, Hello, Dolly, and Into the Woods, succumbed to metastatic melanotic peripheral nerve sheath sarcoma. Throughout his 20-year career, Creel earned accolades for his performances, including a Tony win in 2017 for Hello, Dolly. He also received a Grammy award for best musical theatre album in 2023. In addition to his Broadway success, Creel made appearances on TV shows like Eloise at the Plaza and American Horror Stories. He will be deeply missed by fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry.
