A former mayor in the Philippines, Alice Guo, has been arrested in Indonesia for her alleged links to Chinese criminal syndicates. Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, is wanted for refusing to attend a congressional inquiry in the Philippines. She denies the accusations and claims to be a natural-born Philippine citizen facing false accusations. The Philippine Justice Department confirmed her arrest in Indonesia and stated that she is in the custody of the Indonesian Police. Guo faces charges of money laundering along with 35 others, accused of laundering over 100 million pesos from criminal activities. She fled the country in July and was tracked down in Indonesia. The investigation began after a casino raid in Bamban town revealed scams linked to the mayor.
