Fired Disney employee allegedly hacked menu system to falsely claim certain foods did not contain peanuts, complaint says

A former Disney employee, Michael Scheuer, is being accused of hacking into the company’s menu-creating software after being fired. The federal complaint alleges that he made changes to menus, including falsely indicating that certain food items did not contain peanuts, which could be dangerous for individuals with allergies. Federal agents searched Scheuer’s home and seized computers, but he denied any wrongdoing and accused Disney of framing him. Scheuer’s attorney stated that no one was harmed by the changes and that Scheuer has a disability that may have impacted his termination. Disney has not yet responded to requests for comment.
