FBR rubbishes rumours of taxing Arshad Nadeem’s prize money



Arshad Nadeem, the javelin ace, won a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics and was welcomed back to Pakistan with open arms. The Federal Bureau of Revenue clarified that there would be no tax on the prize money he received for his victory. Nadeem’s success ended Pakistan’s 40-year gold medal drought, and he was honored with rewards and recognition from top officials and the government. The athlete expressed gratitude for the support and respect he received from the nation. President Asif Ali Zardari ordered that Nadeem be awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, while Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar announced a special postage stamp in his honor.
