Climate activists in the UK responded to President-elect Trump’s re-election win by spraying orange paint on a section of the US embassy in London as a protest. Two members of the group Just Stop Oil were arrested for criminal damage. The group believes that Trump’s win puts lives at risk and demands an end to the extraction and burning of oil, gas, and coal by 2030. The group has engaged in other protests in the UK, such as spraying Stonehenge and disrupting performances. The police have a zero-tolerance attitude towards such actions, calling it vandalism disguised as protest.
