Bucs’ Evans mulls joining USA for flag football

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is considering playing for Team USA in flag football for the 2028 Olympics. The International Olympic Committee announced that men’s and women’s flag football will debut in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Evans, who will be 35 at the time of the Games, sees the Pro Bowl’s flag football format as good practice for the Olympics. The sport will be non-tackling and played on a smaller field. Evans, a six-time Pro Bowler, is interested in participating, as well as other NFL players like Jalen Hurts and Tyreek Hill. Tackle football made an appearance in the 1932 Olympics as a non-medal demonstration.
