There has been much concern about the impact of mobile phone use on brain health, with some worrying about the risk of cancer. However, a new review study commissioned by the World Health Organization has found no link between mobile phone use and an increased risk of brain cancer. The study analyzed data from 63 studies dating back to 1994 and found no evidence of increased risks. While radio waves are classified as “possibly carcinogenic” by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, the American Cancer Society notes that they are not thought to cause cancer by damaging DNA. Overall, the review study provides reassurance that mobile phone use does not pose a significant risk of brain cancer.
