Boeing workers to vote next week on a new proposal that could end strike

Boeing factory workers are on strike because they are not satisfied with the pay raises and bonuses offered in the previous contract proposal. The new offer includes a 35% pay increase over four years and a $7,000 upfront bonus per worker. However, it does not include a traditional pension plan, which was a key demand of the striking workers. The strike has halted production of Boeing 737s, 767s, and 777s, but not commercial flights. Boeing is facing financial losses due to the strike and other manufacturing problems. The union plans to hold a ratification vote on the new contract proposal.
