American Airlines recently raised its profit forecast for the year, thanks to a successful sales strategy shift earlier in the year. CEO Robert Isom stated that the company expects to earn between 25 and 50 cents a share on an adjusted basis for the fourth quarter, surpassing analyst expectations. For the full year, the airline anticipates earning as much as an adjusted $1.60 a share, exceeding its previous forecast. American had to make changes to its sales strategy earlier this year after facing challenges, but Isom is confident that these adjustments will improve revenue performance in the long run. In the third quarter, American outperformed Wall Street estimates, with earnings per share at 30 cents adjusted compared to 16 cents and revenue at $13.65 billion versus $13.49 billion expected.
