911 calls released in deadly Georgia school shooting

The emergency call center in a Georgia county was flooded with calls on Sept. 4 about a school shooting at Apalachee High School. Many calls were not released due to state law exemptions for calls involving minors. The calls spiked around 10:20 a.m. when the shooting began. Parents and concerned individuals called 911 seeking information and assistance. The suspect, a 14-year-old, had concealed an assault-style rifle in his backpack and carried out the shooting. Four people were killed, and nine others were wounded. The suspect has been charged with four counts of murder, and his father has also been charged for giving him access to the gun. Students at other schools in the county have returned to class, while Apalachee students are set to return later in September.
