Members of the Roanoke College women’s swimming team who opposed a transgender athlete joining their team were invited to speak at a Donald Trump rally in Virginia. Trump praised them for standing up to “transgender fanatics” and promised to keep men out of women’s sports. The team captain, Lily Mullens, thanked Trump for supporting women’s rights in sports. The team had previously defended their stance at a press conference. The appearance at the rally came after a transgender athlete on the San Jose State women’s volleyball team faced backlash. OutKick reported that SJSU suspended an assistant coach for speaking out against the athlete.
