Rúben Amorim wanted to delay his move to Manchester United until the end of the season, but the Premier League club insisted it was “now or never.” United paid €11 million to transfer Amorim from Sporting CP, where he had already decided to leave at the end of the season. Amorim, who led Sporting to success, including their first league title in 19 years, said it was the right time to move on. He will take his staff to United and remain in charge for a few more games at Sporting before officially starting at United on Nov. 11. Amorim expressed understanding for Sporting fans’ disappointment but emphasized the importance of focusing on the remaining games. He declined to discuss potential player transfers from Sporting to United.
