NBA Commish Adam Silver says he supports the idea of switching to ‘four, 10-minute quarters’

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is considering reducing the length of quarters in NBA games from 12 minutes to 10 minutes. He believes that shorter games could appeal more to modern television habits and reduce wear and tear on players. Silver mentioned that other basketball leagues around the world play shorter games, and he is looking to create more consistency in rules globally. While these ideas are still in the discussion phase, Silver is open to exploring changes to improve the league’s entertainment value, similar to what Major League Baseball did with a pitch clock.
