Multan Test: Root, Brook put England in commanding position against Pakistan



The third day of the first Test between Pakistan and England ended with Joe Root scoring an unbeaten century and leading the team to a total of 492/3 alongside Harry Brook. Root and Brook’s partnership helped England to close the day trailing by 64 runs, with Root scoring 176 and Brook on 141 not out. Root surpassed Alastair Cook’s record and moved into the top-five all-time list of test century makers. Brook also completed his century, his sixth in Tests and fourth against Pakistan. Despite losing a few wickets, England maintained a steady run-rate with Duckett also contributing with a quick half-century. The Men in Green bowlers managed to dismiss three English players on the third day.
