Lionel Messi from Inter Miami is a finalist for the MLS MVP award, along with teammate Luis Suárez and others. Messi had an impressive season with 20 goals and 16 assists in just 19 games, helping his team win the Supporters’ Shield. Despite playing only 55% of the games, his teammate Jordi Alba believes Messi deserves to win the award. Suarez, on the other hand, is also a finalist for the Newcomer of the Year award after scoring 20 goals in his debut season. The team’s defensive players Alba and Ragen are also finalists for Defender of the Year.
