Clemson OK’s athletic fee of $150 per semester, per student

Clemson University’s board of trustees has approved a $150 athletic fee per semester for students starting next academic year. This fee is expected to raise between $7 million and $8 million for the athletic department in 2025-26. The school had previously not charged students for single-game tickets to athletic events. Rival South Carolina charged students $86 per semester in athletic fees this academic year. Clemson stated that the fees would support a strong athletic program and enhance the student experience. Power conference schools are looking for new ways to raise money following a settlement to pay damages to athletes dating back to 2016.
