Pakistan secured their first win of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy by defeating Japan 2-1. Nadeem Ahmed scored the first goal, which was later equalized by Japan. Sufyan Khan then scored a crucial goal in the second quarter to secure the victory for Pakistan. Their previous two matches had ended in draws against South Korea and Malaysia. Pakistan will now face China on September 12 and India on September 14 in the tournament.
