Atishi is set to become the next Chief Minister of Delhi, but she will have to vacate her current residence and move into the official CM’s residence. Arvind Kejriwal, the former CM, needs to find a new house for himself. Last time, when he resigned, he stayed at his private flat in Ghaziabad. There are reports that he might have sold that flat. Atishi may follow the same formula as Manish Sisodia, who technically vacated his bungalow but his family continued to live there. Last year, a sting operation revealed extravagant renovations at Kejriwal’s official residence, with the BJP claiming he spent Rs 44.78 crore on the ‘Sheeshmahal’. The opposition criticized the expensive marble, foreign toilets, and high-end furnishings.
