Veteran CPI(M) leader M M Lawrence passed away at the age of 95 after receiving treatment for age-related ailments. His body will be kept at various locations for the public to pay respects before being donated to a medical college as per his last wish. Lawrence had a long political career, including involvement in the Communist uprising in Kerala in 1950. He faced hardships and torture during his political journey, showing immense sacrifice and dedication. His death is a significant loss for the CPI(M) and the Left movement in Kerala. Leaders across party lines have expressed condolences for the loss of a strong trade union leader and political visionary.
