‘Tongue Should Be Singed’: BJP MP On Rahul Gandhi’s Quota Remarks, Draws Flak

During his recent visit to the USA, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi mentioned that his party would consider scrapping reservation in India once the country is fair. This statement led to controversy, with Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad offering a reward for anyone who chops off Gandhi’s tongue. BJP MP Anil Bonde criticized Gandhi’s remarks, saying his tongue should be singed instead. Bonde’s comments received backlash from opposition parties, with Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule stating he does not support such statements. Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut condemned the threats against Gandhi and questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Congress leaders and workers protested outside the Amravati police commissionerate demanding action against Bonde for his remarks.
