Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife, BM Parvathi, has decided to return 14 plots of land received from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) in connection to a money-laundering case. This decision was made independently without consulting her husband or other family members. The BJP has reacted to this move, calling it a “meek surrender” and accusing Siddaramaiah of misusing power and nepotism. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also booked Siddaramaiah in the money-laundering case, while the Lokayukta police have registered an FIR against him, Parvathi, and others for irregularities in the allotment of the land sites. The case involves allegations of compensatory sites being allotted to Parvathi in a prime area of Mysuru with higher property value than her original land.
