Trinamool Congress MP Jawhar Sircar resigned from his parliamentary post due to dissatisfaction with the West Bengal government’s handling of the Kolkata doctor rape and murder case. In an exclusive interview with News18, Sircar expressed his disagreement with the administration’s decisions in the case and felt it was necessary to leave the party to draw attention to the issue. He also highlighted the overall anger and disgust against the state government, mentioning corruption within the TMC. Despite a call from Mamata Banerjee, Sircar remained firm in his decision to resign. He criticized the failure of the hospital, police, and state administration to take timely and exemplary actions in the case.
