Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Ram temple in Ayodhya and offered prayers before holding a roadshow in the holy town. This visit came two days before the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections. The entrance gates to the temple were decorated with flowers, and replicas of a bow and arrow were seen. PM Modi also participated in a roadshow with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Amit Shah, seeking support for BJP candidates. He highlighted a slip of the tongue by Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav, where he inadvertently appealed for the BJP to win. Modi recalled Mulayam Singh Yadav’s previous statement predicting his victory. The visit to Ayodhya was significant as the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat, where Ayodhya falls under, will go to the polls on May 20.
