Maharashtra is gearing up for the upcoming assembly elections with six principal parties in the fray. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance is working hard to project a strong and united front. The BJP is confident about contesting 115 to 120 seats and discussions are ongoing about the allocation of seats among alliance partners. The focus this time is on transferring votes effectively and mobilizing support for new entrants in the alliance. Central leaders will campaign for the alliance, with PM Modi expected to hold rallies in each division of the state. The NDA is set to release a common manifesto focusing on development work and welfare initiatives. Lessons from past elections, such as effective implementation of schemes like Ladki Behna, consolidation of OBC votes, and outreach to Dalit Buddhists, are being applied. The RSS is also expected to play a crucial role in mobilizing support for the BJP. The assembly elections in Maharashtra will take place on November 20, with counting on November 23.
