Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Bhupinder Singh Hooda attended a public meeting ahead of the Haryana Assembly elections in Mahendragarh district on October 3, 2024. A meeting called by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was held to review the party’s loss in Haryana. However, key stakeholders Randeep Singh Surjewala and Kumari Selja were not invited. The meeting discussed reasons for the loss, including infighting, EVMs, rebel factors, and failure to form an alliance with AAP. The discussions will also be used to plan for the upcoming Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly polls. The absence of key stakeholders raises doubts about learning from the loss.
